COLA Webinar: Creating scalable applications with MiCADO

Project COLA (Cloud Orchestration at the Level of Application) member SZTAKI has developed the Data Avenue (DA) application that can transfer large data sets among data storages which have got any of the following access protocols: HTTP, HTTPS, SFTP, GSIFTP, SRM, iRODS and S3.  As a result Data Avenue is a very flexible tool for transferring data among various types of storages.
The Data Avenue service can serve a large number of users. However, using a simple DA instance in the cloud would be a bottleneck in case of large-scale demand. Therefore, we are interested in creating scalable services based on MICADO – the Microservices-based Cloud Application-level Dynamic Orchestrator from project COLA.

The talk will show the progress from a specific to a more generic scalable DA service. Other use cases can follow this approach to create scalable applications with MiCADO. The webinar will also contain a live demonstration of the deployment and usage of the scalable DA service that run on the professional cloud services offered by project COLA partners such as CloudSigma.
